Guardians

She teaches me right from wrong
but she's not my teacher
She protects me from harm
but she's not my protector
She sits by me and wishes sweet dreams
but she's not my baby sitter
She guards my fragile heart from reality
but she's not my guardian
She preaches to me words from the bible
but she' not my preacher
She tells me of the beginning, the end
and the coming of someone special
but she's not the one
She's only my Mother
but she loves and cares for me as if
She's heaven sent
